Looking for a different way to freshen up your breath than through mints and traditional mouth washes? Then the Ayurvedic Oral Pulling Rinses available through the Dale Audrey, R.D.H. website may be worth a try. According to the Dale Audrey website, these rinses can be used to fight poor breath, improve dry mouth, decrease sores, prevent plaque build-up and more.
Created by a registered dental hygienist by the name of Dale Audrey, this oral rinse line uses neem, myrrh and clove bud oils that purportedly have antibacterial and antiseptic properties. The rinses are also alcohol and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) free.
Just take one to two teaspoons a day of the oral pulling rinse and swish around in the mouth. I use Dale Audrey’s 8-ounce mint flavor pulling rinse oil while in the shower, making the bed and getting ready in the morning – it’s just hard to chat with the kids when they come in to talk to you.
After about 10 to 20 minutes, I spit the pulling oil out into the trash can and rinse my mouth with water at the sink. My gums and breath both feel fresh and my teeth look good. Of course, the pulling rinse can be use for a shorter duration of time, but up to 20 minutes is recommended on the website.
The oral pulling rinses come in fresh mint, cinnamon, bubble gum and ginger flavors. They also are available in one-, eight-, 16- and 32-ounce sizes. The eight ounce mint bottle – the one I use – is available for $14.95 through www.daleaudrey.com and is a good size for trying out the product.
Dale Audrey, who was a dental hygienist for more than 17 years, according to the website, also sells other chemical-free and sustainable oral care products, including toothpaste, toothpowder, gum massagers and more. Additionally, oral care kits are available for adults, children and even pets.
