The main attractions in Myrtle Beach include something for the whole family. Golf, fishing, shopping, amusement parks, you name it and Myrtle Beach has it!
Aside from the beautiful 60 miles of Grand Strand beaches, the area may best be known for its championship golf courses. There are over 120 links providing a challenge for golfers of any skill. Golfers can choose courses rolling along the coastal waterway, or nestled in the restored ruins of an old plantation home. They may even choose to ride a gondola over the waterway to reach a clubhouse.
If golfing is not your game, sometimes a little parasailing would fit the bill. The area offers all types of water related activities. You can scuba dive, surf, windsurf, kayak, canoe, sail or just comb the beach for shells. Along with the beaches and Intracoastal Waterway, the area also provides rivers, creeks and marshes. Great places to fish. There are 8 piers on the Grand Strand for fishing or strolling.
Avid shoppers will love our 2 beautiful Tanger outlet locations and the new Coastal Grand mall. There are also unique new shops at the Market Commons located on the old airbase. Time it just right and you can catch an outdoor summer concert at the Commons too. The shops at Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing offer something for the whole family too. If you really love to shop, you should plan a whole day for each site. Do not forget our quaint shops near by Pawleys Island. Tucked among the old live oaks in individual little rustic shops, you'll find another whole day of shopping.
Kids will never complain of being bored here on the Grand Strand. They can play at any of the 46 mini golf courses located up and down the Strand. Myrtle Waves or Wild Water and Wheels can offer anything you could possibly want in a water park! The new Freestyle Music amusement park can entertain for a day with The Time Machine, the fastest tallest roller coaster in the state! Ride the ferris wheel at Family Kingdom and take beautiful pictures of the ocean at the same time.
When the sun goes down there are live shows all over town. The Carolina Opry, my personal favorite, is touted as the nation's number one variety show. The Dixie Stampede and Medieval Times offer dinner and a show. Dinner is not included with your show? There are over 1,600 full service restaurants to choose from. Many are buffet style with something for everyone. Be sure to visit the historic fishing village of Murrell's Inlet for great seafood.
Oh, and while you're here be sure to rise and shine early at least one day to see the most gorgeous sunrise ever! Myrtle Beach is really a fun place to visit.
